Abrasion Resistance
The wear (abrasion) of cover compounds is the biggest influence on the working life of a belt. Fenner Dunlop abrasion resistant belting provides up to 50% longer wear life versus the competition because the rubber covers we use exceed international quality standards.
We have several cover compounds that help with abrasion, but the 3 listed below are our a few of our favorite abrasion-resistant compounds:
Available Cover and Rubber Compounds
OptimaHeat
OptimaHeat cover compound retains its heat resistance after continuous operation up to 400 degrees F, with minimal abrasion degradation. This new proprietary cover resists hardening and cracking while retaining its flexibility when running under extreme and high heat conditions Key Characteristics: Better Heat Aging Better Abrasion Resistance Improved Cracking…
White Granite
Recommended for specialized food grade applications in which conveyed material is required to avoid any colour contamination.
Granite (LM)
Excellent where heavy, continuous abrasion is the primary concern. Good resistance to cutting and gouging. Recommended for most above-ground abrasive material handling applications, such as coal, coal mine refuse, crushed ores and rock, slag, limestone, potash, trona, salt, sand, aggregate and other abrasives.
FireBoss CSA-C OR
(Flame, Freeze, & Oil Resistance) Moderate oil resistant covers for grain handling. Compounded for colder operating climates. Temperature range -40 deg to 300 deg F (-40 def to 95 deg C). Surpasses U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration specifications for static conductivity. The cover is also flame retardant per MSHA…
